JMC Innovations Ltd operates Jaydiocity, the UK's leading online
social network service for people connected to the Internet either via PC or
mobile phone. The service allows registered members to discover new people that
may share interests, locality and other information stored in their profile and
then be able to chat with members, send messages, rate members and find user
generated editorial content on various subjects.
The Jaydiocity service and
network (collectively, "Jaydiocity" or "the Service") are
operated by JMC Innovations Ltd (collectively, "us", "we"
or "the Company"). By accessing or using our web Site at
www.jaydiocity.co.uk or the mobile version thereof (together the "Site")
you (the "User") signify that you have read, understood and agree to
be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms of Service" or
"Agreement"), whether or not you are a registered member of
Jaydiocity.
Where applicable under law, these Terms constitute a 'writing signed by you.'
At Jaydiocity we
understand that you do not want everybody to see the information you hold in
your profile and for this reason we give you complete control over privacy
settings via our Personal Settings and Access Settings. Our Personal Settings
and Access Settings allow you to choose who may view and have access to your
profile and all the personal information held within it while managing access controls that filter age groups interacting with you.
The Jaydiocity Privacy Policy is
intended to
help you understand how we collect and use the personal information you decide
to share and help you make informed decisions when using Jaydiocity.
By
using or accessing Jaydiocity, you are accepting the practices described in
this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect from you
When you Sign up
to use the Jaydiocity Web Site you provide us with two types of information
- Personal information you intentionally
choose to divulge such as, your name, your email address, your
post code, your location, your telephone number, your gender, your age,
schools attended and other personal or preferred
information such as hobbies and intersests, music, video and pictures.
- Information collected by Jaydiocity which is transmitted
automatically from your computer when you browse the Internet and use the
Jaydiocity site. This information includes data (cookies).
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to
information about the user. We use session ID cookies to confirm that
users are logged in. Session cookies expire once the
user closes the browser however if you select the 'remember me' feature on
the login page then we use a persistent cookie that stores your member ID.
By selecting this you will not require your login and password details when
visiting the site. This makes it easier for you when you check back in to
Jaydiocity however you can remove or block this cookie using the settings
in your browser or by simply logging out if you want to disable this
convenience feature. We do advise you do not enable this feature on shared
computers e.g. in the work place.
You post your own content on the
Site at your own risk. Although Jaydiocity allows you to set privacy options
that limit access to your profile, please be aware that no security measures
are perfect or impassable. Jaydiocity cannot control the actions of other users
which you choose to share your profile and information with.
We cannot and do not guarantee
that the content you post on the Site will not be viewed by unauthorized
persons. We are not responsible for the defending of any privacy settings or
security measures contained on the Site from web based threats. You understand
and acknowledge that, even after removal, copies of your content may remain
viewable in cached and archived pages or if other Users have copied or stored your
content.
Any unacceptable collection or mistreatment of
information provided on Jaydiocity is a breach of the
Jaydiocity Terms of Service and should be reported to privacy@jaydiocity.co.uk
By using Jaydiocity, you agree
to have your personal data transferred to and processed in the United Kingdom.
We disclose
PhonepayPlus as a potential recipient of personal data, and such data collected
from service users may be used by PhonepayPlus for regulatory purposes.
You may
want to introduce friends to Jaydiocity using our invite service. If you do
choose to use this service then you should obtain your friends permission. Your
friends email address will be required and checked against our suppression list.
We will then automatically send them an email while notifying them that you
have instigated us inviting him/her to visit the Jaydiocity Web Site. Jaydiocity
will store this email to send it for invitation purposes once only, and track
the success of the invitation program. Your friend may wish not to take up this
offer and may contact us at privacy@jaydiocity.co.uk
to request that we remove his/her email address from our database.
Use and
Disclosure of Information
When you
register with Jaydiocity, you create your own profile and can set your privacy
settings. Your profile information, as well as your name, age, gender,
location, and photo, are displayed to members you've specified in your privacy settings to enable
you to interact with members on Jaydiocity. We may occasionally use your name
and email address to send you notifications regarding new services offered by
Jaydioctiy that we think you may find valuable.
Profile information is used by
Jaydiocity first
and foremost to be obtainable to and edited by you when you access
the service and to be obtainable to others allowed to view that
information subject to your privacy settings. In some cases where your privacy
settings permit it (e.g. posting comments), other Jaydiocity members may be
able to make additions to your profile.
Profile
information you submit to Jaydiocity will be available to users of Jaydiocity
who you allow to access the information through your privacy settings. Your
user name, will be available in search results across the Jaydiocity network.
People who see your user name in searches, however, will not be able to access
your profile information unless you allow such access based on your privacy
settings.
Your
profile picture may appear on the Jaydiocity home page and be viewable to all
internet users who land on this page. Profile information you submit
to Jaydiocity will be available to all visitors who access the Jaydiocity home
page, who you allow to access the information will be determined within your
privacy settings.
We may send you service-related
announcements from time to time through the general operation of the service.
For instance, if a member sends you a new message, friend request, or someone
posts a comment, you may receive an email or sms alerting you to that fact.
Links
Jaydiocity
contains links to other websites. We are of course not responsible for the
privacy practices of other web sites. We encourage you to be aware when you
leave our site to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that
collects personally identifiable information. This Privacy Policy applies
solely to information collected by Jaydiocity.
Third Party Advertising
Advertisements that appear on
Jaydiocity can sometimes when you click on, be delivered directly to third
party advertisers. They automatically receive your IP address when this
happens. These third party advertisers may also download cookies to your computer,
or use other technologies such as JavaScript and "web beacons" (also
known as "1x1 gifs") to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to
personalise advertising content. The purpose of this is to allow the
advertising network to recognize your computer each time they send you an
advertisement which enables them to measure the effectiveness of their ads and
to personalise advertising content. By doing this, they may compile information
about where the individuals using your computer or browser saw their
advertisements and determine which advertisements are clicked. We do not have
access to or control any of the cookies that may be placed by the third party
advertisers. Third party advertisers have no access to your contact information
stored on Jaydiocity unless we choose to share it with them with your prior
approval.
This privacy policy covers the
use of cookies by Jaydiocity and does not cover the use of cookies or other
tracking technologies used by any of its advertisers.
Children
- Children under the
age of 14 are not eligible to use Jaydiocity and must not attempt to sign
up with Jaydiocity and/or submit any personal information to us.
Jaydiocity does not knowingly collect personal information from any people
who is under the age of 14 or allow them to sign up. If it comes to our
attention that we have collected personal data from a person under the age
of 14, we will delete this information as quickly as possible. If you have
reason to believe that this has occurred, please contact us via support@jaydiocity.co.uk,
and we will delete any such information.
- We recommend that
users between the ages of 14 and 17 should not send any information about
themselves to anyone over the Internet without asking their parents or
legal guardians for permission beforehand.
Reviewing, changing, and deleting
your Profile
You can review and edit your profile via the Update profile
tab. You can delete your profile at any time in the Account Options tab or you
may contact us for assistance via email to support@jaydiocity.co.uk and
requests of this nature will be completed within 30 days.
Changes in Privacy Policy
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post
those changes to this privacy statement, news, and other places we deem
appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use
it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
We reserve the right to modify this privacy statement at any
time, so please review it frequently. If we make material changes to this
policy, we will notify you here, by email, or by means of a notice on our news
page. Your continued use of the Jaydiocity Service will signify your acceptance
of the change.
